Cuidando Los Niños

Volunteers are an essential part of CLN. Our generous corps of volunteers makes it possible for CLN to build stronger futures for our families. From helping prepare meals for the children to building an outdoor classroom, volunteers are a vital component of our program.

Once you visit with the children you’ll want to help them thrive. Caring individuals are needed to volunteer with our children in the classrooms. We also need generous volunteers in our kitchen, offices, donation area and more.

If you have a talent you would like to share with CLN but don’t see it mentioned here, please contact us! We rely on volunteers to perform maintenance, gardening, collection drives, and other projects throughout the year.

In addition, we are always looking for volunteers to act as “Community Ambassadors” to spread our message and drum up support for the organization. Please see the “Advocacy” portion of our website for more information.

Regular Volunteer Opportunities

CLN has several ongoing volunteer opportunities. These volunteer opportunities are only available Monday through Friday. Most volunteers in these areas designate 2-6 hours a week to volunteer at our center.

• Classroom Volunteers — Loving arms are needed to hold, rock, play with, and read to these wonderful children. Volunteers are welcome from 8am-12pm and 2pm-5pm in the classrooms. Those wishing to volunteer during the children’s naptime are welcome to help in the office, sorting donations, or other needs.
• Office Support Volunteers — Cuidando Los Niños needs a few volunteers to help with filing, paperwork, data-entry, and other office support tasks. A regular commitment of 2-6 hours a week is ideal.
• Kitchen Volunteers — Help our cook prepare a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack for our wonderful children. Volunteers are welcome 7am-2pm Monday through Friday. 
• Gardening & Playground Upkeep – CLN needs one or two volunteers to take care of our vegetable garden and playgrounds. This involves trimming plants, weeding, and similar work.

Special Projects

From time to time, CLN has special projects that require special help! These projects are available throughout the week, including the weekend. Many of these tasks require a group of people. Some examples of past and current projects include:

• Building storage for toys and bike helmets on our preschool playground
• Deep cleaning and sterilization of our classrooms, including steaming carpets.
• Creating care packages for families of food, toiletries, and other vital items
• Painting and hanging cabinets in our community room where Parent Education classes are held
